Plasma technology provides oxidation of pollutants with active oxidant species: hydroxyl radical, atomic oxygen, ozone. These oxidants are produced by electrical discharge directly on the surface of treated water in air or oxygen atmosphere.
We are experts in water treatment and oxidation technologies
Wapulec has designed a set of small and medium-scale water treatment devices. Electric discharge plasma treatment can be used in various applications, such as water disinfection, micropollutants oxidation and industrial wastewater treatment.
Electric discarge treatment has a number of perspective applications in wastewater treatment and potable water purification.
Wastewater treatment
Oxidative destruction of organic pollutants, toxic and refractory substances which cannot be removed by biological treatment.
Alternative to ozone treatment due to 2-4 times lower nergy expences
Potable water treatment
Disinfection and purification of surface water, removal of algae and humic substances, pesticides and pathogens.
Treatment of groundwater with excessive content of iron, manganese and natural organic matter.
Water disinfection
Efficient disinfection of surface water, water from swimming pools and preliminary treated waste water.
Micropollutant oxidation
Refractory pollutants such as medical drugs and hormones are present in waste waters in small concentration. Plasma treatment has demonstrated its efficiency for the removal of these substances from preliminary treated municipal and hospital waste waters.
Air treatment
Treatment of exhaust air combining wet scrubber technology with plasma oxidation. This system is capable of air deodoration, volatile organic compounds removal. Aerosol particles, such as smoke and grease, are transferred to the liquid phase.
Research: plasma oxidation and modification
We are able to build plasma treament systems for plasma modification or oxidation based on pulsed corona, dielectric barrier or spark discharges.
Application examples include surface activation, pulsed electric field treatment, generation of fine particles etc.
